What is Marketplace?

Marketplace is a website run by Continental which brings together buyers and sellers of quality second-hand gymnastics and other related equipment.

Who can use Marketplace?

Marketplace is open to anyone within the UK.

Is Continental selling goods on behalf of clubs and individuals?

No. Continental is a facilitator and consequently not the seller of any equipment available for purchase via the Marketplace website.

When I make a payment does the money go directly to the seller?

No. All payments are made to Continental who acts as a trusted third party by confirming to the seller that the buyer has made payment for the equipment being sold. When a club successfully sells their equipment Continental will give that seller credit to the value of the equipment sold plus a 10% bonus, that credit can be used for making purchases of new equipment from Continental.

Is there a delivery charge?

It is the seller's responsibility to determine whether goods are to be delivered to, or picked up by, the buyer. It will therefore be the seller's responsibility to determine the cost of any delivery. Please note that the seller will be under no obligation to deliver or make available goods for pick up until Continental has received payment in full. In some circumstances, Continental may be able to arrange pickup and delivery for a reasonable charge. Please contact us for more information.

My goods haven't arrived yet, who do I contact?

If you have arranged for your goods to be delivered and they do not arrived by an mutually agreed time, you must contact the seller directly. Continental has no liability in respect of delivery of goods bought within Marketplace.

The goods I've received are not in the condition described, who do I contact?

It is the buyer's responsibility to check the equipment purchased upon receipt. If you are unhappy with the goods please contact the seller and Continental immediately. If you have not informed Continental of any material defect within three days of receiving or picking up the goods, the goods will be deemed as being accepted by the buyer.

No, at the moment you can only pay by credit and debit cards via our online payment gateway.

Is there a payment fee?

Continental do not charge any fee for payment.

Are all prices fixed?

All prices are determined by the seller and may be stated either as a fixed price or 'open to offers'.

All prices displayed on Marketplace are inclusive of VAT (unless otherwise stated).

Who do I contact if I have a complaint?

If you have an issue with the buyer concerning a transaction this must be resolved between yourself, as buyer, and the seller. If there is any dispute you must inform Continental as to the agreed outcome.

Can I get a refund?

Continental will only refund any payment if the buyer and seller agree in writing between themselves that a refund is to be made. Any such refund agreement must be presented to Continental before a refund can be made.
